What holds it together is a point of view. Nitikos is one writer’s sustained effort to make sense of a complex world: reading it with patience, following the evidence past the obvious, and publishing only what is worth keeping.

Nitikos reflects the perspective of Shreya Meher, combining a career in finance with a lifelong inclination toward writing and inquiry.

My professional experience spans investing, banking, risk, and advisory, with much of my career spent close to the machinery of global markets. That experience shapes how I read the world: through the movement of capital, the incentives that drive decisions, and the forces that quietly shape institutions, industries, and societies over time.

But writing came first, an early indication of a curiosity that would take years to find its true subject. As my career in finance deepened, so did the questions I wanted to explore, until markets, economics, and geopolitics became the natural meeting point of everything I had trained to understand and everything I had always wanted to write about.

Nitikos is where those two threads - the analyst and the writer - finally meet.

I’m still early in my career, and I’ll make mistakes. The views here are my own - offered in good faith, held loosely, and never meant to offend. Where I’m wrong, I’d rather be corrected than comfortable; where we differ, I hope it’s the kind of disagreement worth having. I’ll change my mind as the evidence does.

My vision is simple: to build, one piece at a time, an honest and lasting body of analysis on the forces shaping our world. Written with more care than the pace of the internet usually allows. These are the standards I hold myself to.

Depth over speed

I’d rather publish one piece worth keeping than ten worth forgetting. Late and right beats fast and shallow.

Clarity over jargon

If I can’t explain an idea in plain language, I don’t yet understand it well enough to publish it.

Evidence over ego

I follow the argument wherever it leads, and I change my mind when the facts do - even when that’s inconvenient.

Curiosity without borders

Like the name, I draw on more than one tradition and discipline - the questions that matter rarely respect the lines between fields.
